Range Steels for cold forming
These steels have low carbon content and excellent weldability. Continuously annealed steels are designed to satisfy particular criteria in terms of flatness, surface cleanliness and uniformity of mechanical characteristics Blued plate This product is offered in three different qualities for which the annealing is done on a special installation, in an oxidising atmosphere in order to promote the development of a thin layer of magnetite on the surface of the sheet In addition to the aesthetic aspect, this layer provides protection against corrosion for parts of which the surfaces cannot be treated by conventional processes or be covered by a protective metal coating. High strength low alloy (HSLA) steels for cold forming
The hardening obtained during a special manufacturing process makes it possible to reach high strength levels while limiting the content in alloying ingredients; a characteristic favourable to functional properties such as suitability for welding or metal plating The mechanical characteristics of these steels enable structural strengthening parts not requiring severe forming to be made lighter Here again, continuously annealed steels are designed to satisfy particular criteria in terms of flatness, surface cleanliness and uniformity of mechanical characteristics Structural steels Structural steels are mainly used in the fields of building and mechanical construction These are carbon and manganese steels for which minimum elastic limit and ultimate tensile strength values are guaranteed They are used in applications where strength properties are more important than those of formability or ductility In this part, the restoration of properties after cold rolling, to allow the metal to be worked easily, is achieved by low annealing in a controlled atmosphere Steels with monitored mechanical characteristics These steels have similar characteristics to the previous range but this time they are continuous ly annealed This process gives the final product excellent performance in terms of flatness, surface cleanliness and uniformity of mechanical characteristics Steels with guaranteed chemical composition
